If, like me, you have already binge-watched ‘The Punisher’ on Netflix and came away mostly satisfied that Marvel/ Netflix came back from the misstep that was ‘Iron Fist’ (and some would argue, ‘The Defenders,’), or the even bigger Marvel TV mistake of the year known as ‘The Inhumans,’ then you might be pleased to know that you can momentarily step back into the world of ‘The Punisher‘ with the new featurette Netflix just released for the series.
The featurette takes a look at the show and driving motivations behind some of the main characters, namely Frank, Micro, Madani, and Billy, with interviews from the cast and footage from throughout the series. NOTE – if you have not finished all of the episodes of Season 1 yet, it is probably not a good time to watch this video, as it does not necessarily give away spoilers, but it hints enough that you will probably be able to figure out quite a few things just based on what they are saying.
It is an intriguing look behind the scenes at the series, especially in regards to seeing what the actors thought of the characters they were portraying, and how they saw themselves in the story. Here’s the synopsis for the featurette, which you can find below:
How far does the conspiracy go? Go behind the scenes with the cast and crew of Marvel’s The Punisher as they explain the setting and motivations of each main character.
After exacting revenge on those responsible for the death of his wife and children, Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) uncovers a conspiracy that runs far deeper than New York’s criminal underworld. Now known throughout the city as The Punisher, he must discover the truth about injustices that affect more than his family alone.
The series is executive produced by showrunner Steve Lightfoot (Hannibal), Jim Chory (Marvel’s Daredevil, Marvel’s Jessica Jones, Marvel’s Luke Cage) and Jeph Loeb (Marvel’s Daredevil, Marvel’s Jessica Jones, Marvel’s Luke Cage) who also serves as Marvel’s Head of Television. Marvel’s The Punisher is produced by Marvel Television in association with ABC Studios for Netflix.
