New plot details have been released regarding the fifth ‘Jurassic Park’ adventure, ‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.’ Directed by J.A. Bayona (‘The Impossible’), the sequel, set several years after 2015’s box office hit ‘Jurassic World,’ centers around a volcano on Isla Nublar that threatens the dinosaurs that had overrun the park at the end of the previous film. The two people who have the best shot at saving the creatures from a second extinction are of course Chris Pratt’s dinosaur trainer Owen Grady and Bryce Dallas Howard’s former park manager Claire Dearing.
Howard gave a recent interview where she outlined a few of the details. She said:
“Claire’s founded an organization, Dinosaur Protection Group, and they’re finding a way to get these dinosaurs off the island. She reaches out to Owen Grady to let him know this is happening.”
Oh no! Reaches out? It would seem that maybe the couple did not last after the events of ‘Jurassic World!’ Howard went on to explain:
“When you see them at the beginning of this story, you get caught up as to what’s going on. But it’s not what you would necessarily expect.”
The movie brings on a few new cast members. Daniella Pineda (‘The Detour’) and Justice Smith (‘Paper Towns’) play new characters involved with Claire’s Dinosaur Protection Group. Jeff Goldblum will make a no-doubt triumphant return as mathematician Dr. Ian Malcolm. Bayona spoke about his experience working with Goldblum, saying:
“I had to overcome the impact of being in front of Ian Malcolm. After so many years, Jeff Goldblum was in front of a camera again talking about dinosaurs!”
Excuse us while we nerd out alongside Bayona! It sounds like fans are in for a wild ride when ‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom’ is released on June 22, 2018.
