Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle

‘Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle’ has been shown to some critics and while they are still under an embargo, the early chatter is that they have largely been impressed.  This is great news, as the original film is a beloved favorite starring the dearly departed Robin Williams, not to mention the fact that ‘Welcome to the Jungle‘ is opening in the wake of ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’, so it needs every bit of good will it can muster.  BUT, Sony is hoping to possibly dodge the lightsabre and show ‘Jumanji’ to audiences early!

If you are an Amazon Prime customer, you can check out a special advance screening next Friday, December 8th at 7pm at 1000 select locations.  If you are an Amazon Prime customer (and you MUST be), you can purchase tickets here.

As stated, ‘Jumanji’ will be going head-to-head with ‘The Last Jedi’ so some early advance positive fan reaction could really help the film out.

‘Welcome to the Jungle’ swaps out the board game from the original for a video game.  The all-star cast includes Dwayne Johnson as avatar Dr. Smolder Bravestone, Jack Black as Professor Shelly Oberon, Kevin Hart as Moose Finbar and Karen Gillan as Ruby Roundhouse, as well as Nick Jonas and Bobby Canavale.

In a brand new Jumanji adventure, the tables are turned as four teenagers are sucked into Jumanji’s world – pitted against rhinos, black mambas and an endless variety of jungle traps and puzzles. To survive, they’ll play as characters from the game: meek Spencer becomes a brave explorer; hulky jock Fridge becomes a tiny genius; It-girl Bethany becomes a bookworm professor; and unathletic Martha becomes an amazonian warrior. To beat the game and return to the real world with their lives, they’ll have to start seeing things in an entirely different way.

The film, directed by Jake Kasdan, officially opens on December 20, but grab your early tickets while you can, in order to check it out almost two weeks early!
