westworld ben barnes

After the twisty plot of ‘Westworld’ season 1 finally culminated with the confirmation that the story of Logan and William was indeed a story from an earlier point in the history of the park, many fans assumed their story was over once we saw William finally best Logan and send him off, nude and defenseless, into the park atop his horse, and then watch William grow into the Man In Black played by Ed Harris in the storyline of the present. And with show-runners Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy stating that multiple timelines would not be likely for Season 2 of the series, most of us assumed that would be the last we would see of the character played by Ben Barnes. However, we have recently discovered that may not exactly be the case.

While speaking to Screen Rant recently about the prospects of him coming back to ‘Westworld,’ Ben Barnes made the following statement:

“I definitely have heard because I can tell you that I have been on set at least once already.”

Now, the man is being coy about this, and who can blame him. The secrecy around ‘Westworld’ is massive, and it should be, as they have lots of story to tell and mystery and conspiracies are their bread and butter.

But what could the return of Logan mean for the series? Does this also mean Jimmi Simpson is returning as the younger version of the Man in Black? Could this just be for a quick flashback scene, perhaps to let us know the ultimate fate of Logan after his humiliating defeat by William? Or could there be more to his story? Could he be returning for more than just a scene or two and have a significant role in the story of Season 2? Only time will tell, but I like that ‘Westworld’ is already surprising us, and I cannot wait for the new season to get here so we can see what they have in store for us.
