DC Bombshells Blew It?

While the DC Collectibles Designer Series line has overall proven successful, it appears that the ‘DC Bombshells’ action figures may have been a misfire! While DC Collectibles hasn’t commented or announced anything themselves, according to TNI Diamond Distributors has listed the two latest figures in the series as ‘Cancelled’! Considering just how many other figures we have seen cancelled from DC Collectibles lately, it sadly seems likely that the upcoming DC Bombshells Bumblebee and Supergirl action figures will never see the light of day on the mass market. We will be sure to keep you posted if anything changes regarding these, but I wouldn’t hold your breath too long!

Disney’s Toybox Goes To ‘Infinity’ And Beyond!

Earlier this year Disney unceremoniously ended it’s foray into the action-figure-video-game market when they put an end to their massive online game and toyline, ‘Disney Infinity’ and shuttered the studio behind it. Still, there are a number of collectors out there who are still sad that the game is over, and that they can no longer use all of the figures they’ve collected the last few years to play online with their friends. But one of the most unique parts of the game, the stylized character designs that brought the worlds of Disney, Marvel, Pixar, and Star Wars together in one shared universe, has found a way to live on!

This past week Disney launched an all-new line of Disney Store exclusive 4″ action figures dubbed the ‘Toybox’ line! The in-game worlds in ‘Disney Infinity’ were all part of ‘The Toybox’, so it’s fitting that this new line of figures that lifts the stylized character designs from the game should share the same name. These new figures are 4″ scale, fully articulated, and are from a variety of franchises that fall under the ‘Star Wars’, ‘Marvel’, and ‘Pixar’ brands! The first few figures have already begun hitting Disney Stores and are available online now, including Iron Man, Thor, Rey, Kylo Ren, Buzz Lightyear, and more! Plus there are a number of additional figures alluded to in a teaser image released by Disney so there are going to be plenty to look forward to adding to your collection! Each Disney Toybox figure retails for approximately $12.95.

Captain Kirk’s arch nemesis joins the Quantum Mechanix line of 1:6 scale collectible figures from Star Trek™: The Original Series (TOS). Khan Noonien Singh from the classic episode “Space Seed” was the genetically-engineered superhuman that nearly took over Earth in the late 20th century. This figure represents Khan in his red military uniform worn as he tried to take command of the Enterprise in the 23rd century.

Standing approximately 12 inches tall, every element, from the gold collar insignia to his custom black boots, is authentically reproduced. The original portrait sculpt of Ricardo Montalban as Khan has an authentic, hand-painted likeness.

The QMx Khan 1:6 Scale Articulated Figure includes:

Fully Articulated Body: More than 30 points of articulation allow the figure to be displayed in multiple dynamic poses, approximately 30 cm tall.

Realistic Portrait: An authentic likeness of Montalban as Khan is specially hand-painted.

Red Military Jumpsuit: Meticulously researched, this jumpsuit matches the pattern, fabric, and color of the original costume. The gold accents are exact replicas of the original pieces.

Boots: Using leather-like material cut in the original style of the footwear worn in Star Trek™: TOS.

For details on the equipment and multiple hands that come with Khan, please click on the Accessories tab.

This fine collectible figure is a perfect rendition of everyone’s favorite despotic superhuman and a great addition to your Star Trek™ 1:6-scale figure collection.

Equipment

Khan battled Kirk for control of the Enterprise and the chosen accessories played a part in that iconic fight:

  • Crushed Phaser: Using his super-strength Khan took Kirk’s phaser and crushed it using his bare hands.
  • Engineering Rod: Kirk was only able to get the better of Khan by beating him with this rod pulled from the engineering console.
  • Star Trek Delta Symbol Display Base: A custom display base featuring the familiar Star Trek delta symbol will hold up the figure and allow more extreme poses.
  • Specialty hands are included for crushing the phaser and holding the engineering rod.
