Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them 2

The still-untitled sequel to ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’ is still in production and won’t arrive in theaters for more than a year, but as a tease/treat for fans, the movie’s official Instagram account posted a new photo.  There aren’t any people in it but does give a hint as to what viewers can expect at some point in the story.

“A newly published author must have a book launch party. Newt Scamander has been busy,” the caption reads.  Yes, it seems that the sequel will feature the actual publication of ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’, which originated in the ‘Harry Potter’ books and movies as one of the essential textbooks that Harry and his classmates studied while at Hogwarts.

Check out the photo below:

As you can see, the launch party will be held at Osbscurus Books and the book itself will be published by Flourish & Blotts.  The party is being held at 7pm on the date of Saturday the 19th of March, 1927.  The book was originally commissioned by Augustus Worme in 1918, as depicted in the first movie.  It’s interesting that Newt Scamander (played by Eddie Redmayne) spent almost ten years travelling the world and writing this book, but that those adventures aren’t the focus of additional movies– at least that’s how it would seem.

Presumably, Scamander is back in England, but some of his friends from the Land of No-Majes will presumably be attending the party, including Tina Goldstein (Katherine Waterston), Queenie Goldstein (Allison Studol) and Jacob Kowalski (Dan Folger) as well as MACUSA president Seraphina Picquery (Carmen Ejogo).

Also returning is Credence Barebone (Ezra Miller).  Newcomers include Johnny Depp as Gellert Grindelwald, Jude Law as the younger Albus Dumbledore, Callum Turner as Theseus Scamander and Zoë Kravitz as Leta Lestrange.

David Yates returns to direct the second movie in this series and once again, the screenplay was written by the woman who created the entire Wizarding World, J.K. Rowling.

How do you feel about this tease?  Does it make you more excited to see where the story goes from here?

‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them 2’ will enchant audiences on November 16, 2018.
