Harry Potter’s fantastical journey came to an end in 2011 with ‘The Deathly Hallows Part II,’ but Warner Bros has turned back the clock nearly a century to tell the stories of other heroes in the Wizarding World. ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’ was the first film in this new chapter, and its sequel is currently in principal photography. Along with several returning characters, ‘Fantastic Beasts 2’ will feature plenty of new faces. The film is now teasing the appearance of a character that true Potterheads will remember quite well: Nicolas Flamel.
It was announced earlier this month that Nicolas Flamel will appear in the flesh in ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them 2,’ and will be played by Brontis Jodorowsky. How the character will fit into the overall plot of the film has yet to be revealed, but the ‘Fantastic Beasts’ Facebook page recently posted the image below of a book showing off one of Flamel’s custom locks.
In the first ‘Harry Potter’ movie, Voldemort attempted to use the Sorcerer’s Stone to rebuild his body after being rendered all but dead thanks to Lily Potter and her badassery, but he was unsuccessful in doing so.
Jodorowsky is just one of the new performers who will appear in ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them 2.’ Others include Callum Turned as Theseus Scamander, David Sakurai as Krall, Claudia Kim, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, Jessica Williams and Kevin Guthrie, as well as Zoe Kravitz making her full debut as Leta Lestrange and Jude Law playing a younger Albus Dumbledore. As for established characters, Newt Scamander, Tina Goldstein, Queen Goldstein, Jacob Kowalski, Credence Barebone and Gellert Grindelwald will all be back. The sequel will take place a few months after the first movie and will follow Newt and his squad as they try to vanquish the recently-escaped Grindelwald, the most dangerous Dark wizard in the Wizarding World.
‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them 2’ apparates into theaters on November 16, 2018!
