Justice League Aquaman Cyborg

With Superman dead and the Earth under attack by an otherworld being, the world needs protection and Bruce Wayne is stepping up to bring a team together in the latest trailer for ‘Justice League.’

Most of the news around the movie lately have been concerned with the behind scenes events with Zack Snyder stepping down during post-production of the film due to a personal tragedy and Joss Whedon taking the reins in his place. It would seem like a simple switch but rumors of extensive reshoots and Whedon rewriting some of the script to the point where he now has co-writing credit, have made fans and critics wonder how much was changed? Bottom line, what we all want to know is will ‘Justice League’ be any good?

Let the latest trailer help you make that decision:

The first thing that comes to mind is how undark this film is compared to Snyder’s other two DC films. Frankly, that’s a big plus on my end. With the huge success of ‘Wonder Woman’ and the positive reactions of Affleck as Batman in ‘Batman V Superman,’ it’s not too hard to see why those two are the centerpieces of the trailer. Jason Mamoa’s ‘Aquaman’ nullifies any past jokes about the superhero as he appears very badass here. Erza Miller’s Flash brings on the comedy relief and with Cyclops being key to the story, it looks like we’ll be seeing some really cool effects with that character. One thing, and it could be just me, is that I couldn’t help feel a little ‘Avengers’ vibe while watching the trailer. Maybe it’s because Whedon is attached to ‘Justice League’ so that comparison is just an automatic reaction? Or maybe the synopsis sounds familiar?

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
