Well, with no release date for ‘The Punisher’ being revealed by Netflix, eventually all of the cool promos are going to start to feel a bit stale, as they are building us up for something without letting us know when it will happen. Frankly, I cannot just stay forever in a heightened state of excitement for a new series like this, so they had better let us know when it is coming out soon because the novelty of the hiding the premiere date is starting to wear thin, and now I’m just getting to the point of annoyance in Netflix playing coy. Regardless, they have released another new promo for ‘The Punisher,’ this one a quick video of Frank walking across screen, left to right, three times, each walk with him superimposed in front of memories from his past.
The first walk-by has memories of his family and what happened to them, all parts of his motivation for his war on crime and those that took away his life. The next walk he is front of memories of his time in the military, where he received the skills he uses as a vigilante to punish those doing evil in his city, this part also hinting at the link his military past might have to the event that killed his family, and might have something to do with his current issues, since there are rumors that he spent some time in a covert operation whose repercussions will be felt during this series. The final walk shows him as the Punisher in New York, doing his anti-hero thing as he takes down criminals and punishes the wicked, and perhaps continues a quest to find those who ruined his life, as there have been rumors that the botched police investigation and gang shootout that killed his family might not have been as coincidental as it seemed during the events of ‘Daredevil’ Season 2.
