Any Potterhead worth his salt knows that the wand chooses the wizard. It’s one of the first things Harry Potter learns as he explores the books’ magical universe. A wand belonging to a witch or wizard is far from a sentient being; however, wands tend to forge a unique connection with its user. To further explain the nature of these magical connections, Insight Editions is releasing a book in November, which will detail the nature of each major Harry Potter character’s relationship with their wand.
‘Harry Potter: The Wand Collection’ provides a look into each major wand used in the ‘Harry Potter’ films, and a breakdown of what it’s made of and why that matters. Fans of the books know that Harry and Voldemort, for example, both have wands with a phoenix feather core (plucked from Dumbledore’s own phoenix, Fawkes) and that connection has major consequences throughout the duration of the series. The new book will also explore the many wands of Ron Weasley – the character goes through a couple different ones over the course of the series, as they’re broken and misplaced.
‘The Wand Collection’ will be in good company with ‘Harry Potter’ companion books. Since the last book in the original series was released in 2007, author J. K. Rowling has since given fans companion books like ‘The Tales of Beedle the Bard,’ a storybook of the same name mentioned in ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.’ Potter fans also had the opportunity to purchase the original screenplay of ‘The Cursed Child’ as the play, set years after the ‘Harry Potter’ series, hit the stage in London.
‘Harry Potter: The Wand Collection’ is due to hit shelves on November 14. Check out the cover art below!
