A new photo from the set of upcoming Marvel Comics Universe film, ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp’ gives fans a new look at Paul Rudd’s uniform. While we don’t know much surrounding the sequel, based on the official synopsis for the movie, it appears it will directly tackle the disappearance and possible return of Janet Van Dyne, wife to Michael Douglass’ character Hank Pym, mother to Evangeline Lily’s Janet Van Dyne, and the original Wasp.
This new character will be played by actress Michelle Pfeiffer (‘Batman Returns,’ ‘Dark Shadows.’). We already know that that character was lost to the quantum realm several years ago, but if Scott Lang (Rudd’s character, obvi) was able to return from his one-way trip, there is a chance that she could too.
The sequel has been in production since August and has been filming some outside shots in the last several days. Last week, fans got a first look at Lily’s full Wasp costume complete with its helmet, as well as a shot of Walton Goggins as one of the new characters, Sonny Burch, in a white shirt and tie. This time, however, it is Lang who was snapped outside doing some scenes for the film.
This snap does not feature Rudd. Instead, it shows his stunt double sporting the red and black suit. There seem to have been some modifications in the body armor, especially with the coloring. While it is currently unknown if the change has anything to do with the suit’s abilities, we can expect that Lang’s new ability will continue to grow, as we were able to see in ‘Captain America: Civil War.’

While this is our first clear shot of the new attire, this is not the first time that we have seen the new and improved Ant-Man. Last month, fans were treated to a zoomed out shot of Rudd wearing the uniform for Marvel Studios’ Hurricane Harvey fundraising campaign video.
From what we can tell, ‘Ant-Man And The Wasp’ will tell a more grounded story, revolving more around personal relationships than saving the world. Lang’s side family including his daughter, Cassie (Abby Ryder Fortson) and her mother Maggie (Judy Greer) are coming back for the sequel, as well as the fan-favorite, Luis (Michael Peña). The film will also feature newcomers like Laurence Fishburne (Dr. Bill Foster), Hannah John-Kamen (Ghost), and Randall Park (Jimmy Woo) will be making their big MCU debut in the upcoming film.
‘Ant-Man And The Wasp’ buzzes into theatres July 6, 2018.
