Marvel’s ‘The Inhumans’ has been enjoying a limited run in IMAX theaters for the past few days with very mixed results. The full premiere will air September 29 on ABC, but in the meantime, fans have been given a sneak peek in the form of a clip featuring Black Bolt and Medusa. The clip features Medusa trying to contact her husband Black Bolt after they both arrive on Earth. The Royal Family are forced to leave their home on the Moon after Maximus, Black Bolt’s brother, attempts to take control of Attilan. After using her infamous hair to stop Maximus, Medusa’s head is shaved, leaving her with no power.
In this new scene, fans glimpse an emotional connection between Medusa and Black Bolt, as he finds a way to communicate to his wife that he is okay without really telling her. We see him hold his audio communicator to his heart, indicating to her that he is unharmed. She grows emotional and thanks him as the scene fades to black.
Marvel fans have already been introduced to the Inhuman gene in the Marvel Universe thanks to ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ – another MCU show on ABC. In fact, showrunner Scott Buck has hinted that a direct crossover between ‘S.H.I.E.L.D.’ and ‘Inhumans’ is a real possibility, in the future. With many fans taking to ‘The Defenders’ and other Marvel/Netflix TV shows, it is surprising that Marvel TV continues to push its ABC TV shows as its main hub.
The cast of ‘Inhumans’ features a few familiar faces. Joining Anson Mount as King Black Bolt, the show features ‘Game of Thrones’ star Iwan Rheon as Maximus, Serinda Swan as Queen Medusa, and Ken Leung as advisor Karnak. The cast also includes Isabelle Cornish as Medusa’s sister Crystal, Eme Ikwuakor as Gorgon, Mike Moh as Triton, Sonya Balmores as Auran, and Ellen Woglom and former ‘LOST’ star Henry Ian Cusick in human roles.
Stay tuned for more ‘Inhumans’ news as we approach the premiere on September 29.
