New NECA ‘Aliens’ Ready To Go!

The team at NECA have won over collectors with wave after wave of their fan favorite line of figures based on the legendary ‘Aliens’ franchise! Right now they’re prepping for the upcoming release of ‘Aliens’ Series 12 and to whet your appetites they’ve posted new in-package images of the whole wave! These figures are due to hit stores in September. Check out the new images as well as a full wave solicitation from NECA below:

Series 12 of our bestselling Aliens action figures is themed to the events that occur in Hadley’s Hope during Aliens and continues our 30th Anniversary celebration. It includes Lt. Ellen Ripley (Bomber Jacket), Private Jenette Vasquez (BDUs), and two different Battle-Damaged Aliens Warriors.

Ripley stands approximately 7″ tall, has over 25 points of articulation and features the likeness of Sigourney Weaver. She wears a bomber jacket over blue coverall and comes with pulse rifle accessory and attachable muzzle flash.

Vasquez stands approximately 6.5″ tall and features the likeness of Jenette Goldstein. Vasquez is seen in her alternate outfit and the Marine gear is completely faithful to the movie, down to the “LOCO” detailing on the back of her vest. Vasquez has over 25 points of articulation and comes with pistol, knife and pulse rifle with attachable muzzle flash.

The Xenomorph Warriors feature 2 unique battle-damaged sculpts and stand over 9″ tall. They utilize the new “Ultimate” Alien body, which has many upgrades, including added articulation and increased range of motion in upper torso and neck, plus a re-engineered tail assembly which provides an additional swivel as well as having a bendable portion. Over 30 points of articulation.

The Die Is Cast For Voltron

After laying dormant for years, Voltron is back! Thanks to a relaunch of the franchise with an all new animated series on Netflix a few years back, the ‘Voltron’ brand is bigger than ever, and fans can’t get enough of this legendary defender! This summer Playmates is launching an all new line of figures based on the hit series, with their new diecast ‘Voltron Metal Defender‘ collection!

The new premium diecast line launched exclusively at SDCC 2017 last month, but should be hitting mass retail any day now for just $14.99 each! The first series is comprised of the entire lion-force time of the Black, Red, Blue, Green, and Yellow lions who can all be combined to form an all new fully articulated 8″ Voltron figure! “And I’ll Build The Head!”

As if you didn’t just get enough awesome ‘Voltron’ news, this next one is a doozy! The team at LEGO has recently approved an all new ‘Voltron’ LEGO set based on a design submitted to their ‘LEGO Ideas’ program! The program accepts ideas for potential new LEGO sets from fans, and then when an idea gets enough fan votes (10,000 support votes!) it is officially submitted to the masterminds at LEGO for review!

The new ‘Voltron’ LEGO set was submitted by user Len_d69 and features all five Lions that are able to completely transform and combine to form a LEGO Voltron The Legendary Defender! Unfortunately, we have no news as to when we can expect this amazing new LEGO set to hit the market, but we will keep you posted!  Check out the release from LEGO announcing the new set below!

Voltron – Defender of the Universe

A big congratulations to len_d69 on becoming the next official LEGO Ideas fan designer!

Leandro’s passion for Voltron started at a very young age when his parents bought him a Voltron toy. From that moment on Leandro was hooked. Building with LEGO bricks allowed Leandro to celebrate his passion for Voltron – Defender of the Universe even more

We’re really excited to be able to introduce Leandro’s Voltron – Defender of the Universe set. Leandro’s project sets itself apart for its creative way to build with LEGO bricks.

If you’d like to learn more about Leandro then make sure to check out his 10K Club Interview.

Mattel Unites The League

With the first ever live action adaptation of DC Comics’ ‘Justice League’ just a few short months out from release, the toys are starting to hit and collectors couldn’t be more excited! This week we got a ton of new images of the upcoming 6″ scale line from the team at Mattel, including all six members of The Justice League plus Mera! The main wave of figures is comprised of Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Superman, Cyborg, and The Flash! Each of these figures includes a collect-and-connect piece to build your own figure of the film’s villain, Steppenwolf!

While the first wave of six figures is already hitting retail now, Mattel has been unclear as to what other figures may be releasing alongside Mera, who herself looks to be part of a second wave of figures (or potentially a retailer exclusive, as she is currently only available for pre-order on Amazon with a November release scheduled). Check out all of the new figures below!
