Miles Morales

For those of us worried that Sony’s animated ‘Spider-Man’ film starring Miles Morales might mean that Disney/ Marvel will never get a chance to use the character in the MCU, apparently we need not fret, as Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige has recently shared the fact that Miles Morales does, in fact, exist somewhere in the MCU.

The information came out during a recent interview with Screen Crush where Feige explained that Donald Glover‘s character in ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming,’ Aaron Davis, mentions that he has a nephew, who as fans from the comics know, is actually Miles Morales. To be clear, Miles will not be name dropped in ‘Homecoming,’ but the reference is still a lot to go on, and gives us hope for the future. Even if Tom Holland is only signed on for five films, that does not mean there could not be more ‘Spider-Man’ films in the MCU starring Peter Parker’s successor, which would be very cool.

According to Feige’s statement:

“…anything that’s happened in the books” is fair game for Marvel to bring into MCU…In the meantime, I think Miles is a big part of the animated movie that Sony’s making. But where we go… we definitely want you to go ‘[Miles] is there. He’s there somewhere.’”

And for Feige to make sure we are aware that Miles is part of the MCU is also pretty important. It looks to me like Feige is setting up that character for the future, dropping hints for Miles to make an entrance that he knows fans have been waiting a long time for, and I think it would be amazing to have both Peter Parker and Miles Morales in the MCU.

What are your thoughts on the matter? Is there a chance that the plan could be for Tom Holland to hand over the webs to a new player after his stint as ‘Spider-Man’ comes to an end? Share your opinions and theories in the comments below!
