Okay, admit it.  At some point you’ve mixed up one of the superhero Chrises– Evans, Hemsworth, Pine and Pratt.  Even if it was just fumbling their names when you could clearly picture the one you were talking about in your head.

Hopefully, Chris Pine has provided a scorecard to set the record straight.  Best known for playing Captain James T. Kirk in the ‘Star Trek’ movies, Pine is currently stumping for his new superhero extravaganza, ‘Wonder Woman’ in which he plays Steve Trevor.  He made a stop to host ‘SNL’ this weekend and kicked off the show with an opening song-and-dance monologue (set to the tune of ‘Uptown Girl’) in which he attempted to clarify which of the Chrises was which. Did he succeed?

Judge for yourself:

Perhaps the biggest laugh came with his opening line:

“You know I have a movie coming out this weekend, it’s called Guardians of the Galaxy.  [Audience Applause]  See? See? I knew that was going to happen. I am not in Guardians of the Galaxy. That’s Chris Pratt.”

It further didn’t help that Pine is playing Steve Trevor in ‘Wonder Woman’ and Evans plays Steve Rogers a.k.a. Captain America.

Of course, ‘SNL’ had to reference Pine’s most famous role as Captain Kirk, but in a twist, Pine portrayed William Shatner’s Kirk from a lost episode of the original ‘Star Wars’ series.  You may quickly understand why when you see Bobby Moynihan as Spock’s brother Spocko.

Now THAT’S A ‘Star Trek’!

Finally as a bonus, Pine joined the cast for a parody of Hulu’s ‘The Handmaids Tale’, the dystopian series based on Margaret Atwood’s acclaimed novel.  It’s not so much a parody of ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ itself, as it is of the obliviousness of *ahem* the privileged.

‘Wonder Woman’ was directed by Patty Jenkins and stars Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Connie Nielsen, Robin Wright, Ewen Bremner, David Thewlis, Elena Anaya, Lucy Davis, Danny Huston, Florence Kasumba, Doutzen Kroes, Eleanor Matsuura, Saïd Taghmaoui, Lisa Loven Kongsli, Samantha Jo and Eugene Brave Rock. The script was written by Allan Heinberg and Geoff Johns, based on a story by Heinberg and Zack Snyder. It will be released on June 2, 2017.
