It is widely known that the first movie had an Easter Egg which supposedly still hasn’t been found and now director James Gunn has let the world know that a new one will be included in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2‘! The first movie was full of all kinds of nods to the Cosmic Marvel Universe and other franchises, but not all of them were as obvious as Howard the Duck or Warlock’s cocoon.
When asked during an interview with The Independent if there would be the same kind of hidden Easter Egg, Gunn confirmed with a simple “Yes.”
Gunn was also asked if he would reveal what the Easter egg was from the first film. While it sounded like we might know soon, the reveal may not come from the director:
“I am not going to [reveal anything], but people have gotten very close. So, I don’t think it will be very long until it comes out.”
It’s already been three years since the first movie was released with countless viewings on the big screen and home release with no one finding it yet. It’s hard to imagine how someone could “have gotten very close” but not fully figured it out. Ideally, when this riddle is finally solved, it won’t be something so obscure that it was even a surprise that someone figured it out.
