During any given convention anywhere in the world, one of the best things you can possibly do is take in all the amazing costumes wandering around the show floor. Whether if it’s just a closet cosplay thrown together the night before or a carefully crafted, multi-layered, screen accurate recreation that took months of blood, sweat, and tears to assemble, a costume can be a really fun way for someone to proudly display their fandom for all to see.

This weekend, fans from all over the midwest (and even further in some cases) descended upon McCormick Place in Chicago, Illinois for the Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo aka C2E2. Featuring the likes of legendary comic book creators Stan Lee and Frank Miller, former WWE Champion CM Punk, and stars of the big and small screen such as Michael Cudlitz from ‘The Walking Dead’, Luna Lovegood actress Evanna Lynch, nerd extraordinaire Will Wheaton, the kids from ‘Stranger Things’, and a few Power Rangers, attendees came dressed up as their favorites characters from these worlds and more. And in this article, we’ll take a look at some of the best cosplays from the first day of the con. From Disney Princesses to intergalactic heroes to new takes on old favorites, there was most definitely a wide varieties of fandoms represented on C2E2 Day One. Someone even paid homage to one of Alfred Hitchcock’s greatest works. You can check out a small sampling of the awesome cosplay in the gallery below:

Stay tuned right here at ScienceFiction.com to see what other cool cosplays emerged throughout the weekend at C2E2. Until then, share what you think about these costumes in the comments. Also, did you catch that Hitchcock reference? Let us know!
