War is coming.  HBO has released a new set of photos from the premier episode of ‘Game of Thrones’ Season Seven that show the various houses preparing to come to blows for control over the Seven Kingdoms.  That includes Kit Harington’s Jon Snow, King of the North and Emilia Clarke’s Daenerys Targaryen, leading her legion, garbed in scaly armor, emulating the skin of a dragon.

The hit fantasy series only has one more season beyond this one… and both are truncated.  (This season only consists of seven episodes.  Season Eight may be even shorter.)  So expect things to really come to a head with the last remaining episodes.

In addition to Jon Snow and Daenerys, the following photos feature Peter Dinklage as Tyrion Lannister, Lena Heady as Cersei Lannister, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau as Jamie Lannister, Gwedoline Christie as Brienne of Tarth, Kristofer Hivju as Tormund Giantsbane, Bella Ramsey as Lyanna Mormount, Lady of Bear Island, Isaac Hempstead-Wright as Bran Stark, Sophie Turner as Sansa Stark, Maisie Williams as Arya Stark, Aiden Gillen as Petyr Baelish and more.

Not a lot is revealed, but these pics should give you a taste of what to expect from Season Seven when it kicks off in July.

Check them out below:

Who will eventually claim the Iron Throne?  Daenerys and her army of dragons?  Jon Snow?  Someone else?

At this point, it’s anyone’s… er, game.

Are you excited to see what comes of the upcoming season?  Or are you sad to see this epic come to an end?

Both!! Very excited to see what transpires in Season 7 but oh so sad it’s coming to an end. It’s been a fantastic journey and I’m really going to miss it. Thank heaven for DVDs!

      Agreed!

  • I quit watching years ago. All the characters are idiots. And frankly, I don’t understand how the show survived the wedding massacre.

    • I’m in the process of re-watching the series and a lot of the plot points actually steadily get better after the wedding (with less people making Picard-facpalm worthy moments) …. Outside of the Daenerys story arc which is pretty much a snoozefest until the end of the last season outside of one key moment.

Of course, not everyone is going to love everything out there ;)
