After the fallout from the ‘Inhumans vs. X-Men‘ we’re seeing multiple new X-Men titles popping up and while Kitty Pryde is leading up the new ‘X-Men: Gold‘ team, we’re seeing Magneto pulling together the new ‘X-Men: Blue’ and in the closing pages we’ve had a chance to see the return of a major character. While Magneto is likely returning with an ulterior motive, his introduction makes it look as if he is following Xavier’s dream for the younger X-Men. Also returning are Juggernaut and Black Tom Cassidy. Juggernaut doesn’t realize that these are the younger mutants and thinks they’ve just been de-aged but our heroes can push them back without too much difficulty.

The closing page before the return of a particular mutant teases all kinds of things such as a potential return of both the future Brotherhood of Evil Mutants and Charles Xavier. However, those names aren’t the ones you want to know about it’s all about the potential return of Wolverine which Marvel has been teasing all year and in this comic…

We don’t get it.

No, this book brings us the return of a \character who has claws like Logan. A healing factor like him. He also likes to sport facial hair. It’s the son of Wolverine! The last one rules out Dakan so who could this be? Fans of the Ultimate Universe will quickly recognize Jimmy Hudson.

Much like Miles Morales as Spider-Man, the Ultimate Reed Richards, and Thor’s Hammer we seem to have another holdover from the Ultimate Universe which ended after Doom’s reign in the 2015 “Secret Wars” event.

It won’t be long at this rate until we see Hudson joining up with the rest of the ‘X-Men: Blue’ team as we have these younger mutants working with a younger Wolverine. What will really be fun is this will once again give us the Scott vs. Wolverine dynamic for Jean’s attention, even if this younger Jean has her eyes elsewhere.

Are you excited to see that Jimmy Hudson was able to survive into the 616 Universe? Did you hope we’d be getting the real Logan (and not the Old Man version) back? Share your thoughts below True Believers!
