power-rangers

The interest in Lionsgate’s upcoming ‘Power Rangers‘ has ranged from excitement to terror for the reboot of this beloved 90s franchise and two new clips have been unearthed which have a focus on both Zordon and Rita. Say what you want on how things are being mixed up but Bryan Cranston as Zordon seems like a sure win, and while I wouldn’t have initially picked Elizabeth Banks as Rita, the more I see, the more it seems like a good fit.

First, we have the usually lighthearted Banks showing off “her dark side as villainous Rita Repulsa.” The clip was fun but what is more interesting was the little behind-the-scenes mention of the makeup. Not only did it take hours to do but she had to breathe through two straws while in it which sounds a bit uncomfortable, to say the least.

Next up is the clip with Bryan Cranston who everyone has wanted to see take on more leading roles since his work on ‘Breaking Bad.’ We had a tease of his acting in ‘Godzilla, ‘ but with how little screen time he got this could be his first major role since it was released and in it, he’ll just be a giant talking head. I’m both excited to see more of him but feel that this is going to be just another tease of his work.

I honestly had n0 recollection that he did voice work on the original ‘Power Rangers’ series as some of the villains.

Which of these two actors are you more looking forward to seeing in the upcoming ‘Power Rangers’ film? Do you think that Cranston will be able to show off his acting chops as a giant head? Share your thoughts below!
