Zazie Beetz Domino Deadpool

While True Believers are certainly excited to find out who will play Cable opposite Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool in the highly-anticipated sequel to Tim Miller’s 2016 X-Men spinoff, there is another character that fans have been left wondering about for some time. Over the past few months, many names have been thrown around to play the live-action version of mutant mercenary and Wade Wilson’s X-Force teammate Domino. Actresses such as Kerry Washington, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Lizzy Caplan, Ruby Rose, Mackenzie Davis, and more have been connected to the role, but all were just rumors. Most recently, ‘Hidden Figures’ and ‘Moonlight’ star Janelle Monáe was said to have landed the part, but ‘Deadpool 2’ writer Rhett Reese simply stated in a now-deleted tweet, “Wrong.” But now, we know exactly who will don the guns and (presumably) black and white face paint of Neena Thurman in the Merc With A Mouth’s latest adventure.

Earlier today, star/producer Reynolds shared two tweets naming ‘Atlanta’ star Zazie Beetz as Domino in director David Leitch’s Marvel mutant sequel. She has also appeared in the Netflix anthology series ‘Easy’ and Bart Freundlich’s 2016 drama ‘Wolves’, but otherwise, the actress is relatively new to the scene. However, she shined in Donald Glover’s acclaimed FX series and has apparently impressed the ‘Deadpool’ team to land the coveted role. Check out Reynolds’ posts making the announcement below:

What do you think about Zazie Beetz playing Domino/Neena Thurman in ‘Deadpool 2’? Are you surprised by the casting? Or could you see hints of how awesome she could be based on her strong, no nonsense portrayal of Van opposite Donald Glover’s Earn in ‘Atlanta’? Let us know what you think in the comments.
