If the first season of Marvel’s ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ wasn’t enough for you on Disney XD than maybe a team up with The Avengers for a 1-hour premiere of the second season will be! The series returns mid-March with a double feature that teams the galaxy’s most rag-tag group of superheroes with the might Avengers! Not only that, but Disney XD has a bonus in store for you as they will be releasing six short stories which follow “the adventures of the five main characters” that will be released daily starting February 27th! The shorts can be found “on the Disney XD app, VOD, and Disney XD’s YouTube.” With two episodes launching the new season we know that the first episode will be titled “Stayin’ Alive” and is described  as:

“While trying to dispose of Thanos’ asteroid, the Guardians discover it has been taken to a secure facility that belongs to the Avengers.”

After it airs, the second episode which tied this hour-long premiere together is titled “Evolution Rock”:

“The Guardians and the Avengers team up to find out what powerful secrets lie inside Thanos’ asteroid.”

It sounds like Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket, and Groot will have quite a bit in store for them when dealing with The Avengers. While I’m sure that they will be at each other’s thoughts to start, things will be even more interesting as they go toe to toe with the real villain. No, not Thanos, The High Evolutionary. Come on! With a name like the “Evolution Rock” who else would be the enemy here? Are you looking forward to ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ returning to the air next month?
