The Field Guide to Evil

We’ve spoken before about Tim League working to bring us ‘The Field Guide to Evil‘ through crowdfunding and it looks like enough has now come in for the anthology film to be greenlit! Their initial target goal was met thanks to three newly announced executive producers: Christos V. Konstantakopoulos (‘Before Midnight’,’The Lobster’), Keith and Jess Calder (‘Anomalisa’,’Blair Witch’) and the fan-owned media company Legion M. This anthology film is set to give us “eight terrifying tales from the world’s most exciting new voices in international filmmaking.”

Though initial funding is complete, the film still has over a month to go to reach their stretch goals and raise their production of the film. Anthology horror movies have been gaining popularity as of late with ones such as ‘V/H/S’ and ” garnering rave reviews in the horror community.

According to Konstantakopoulos:

“All of us at Faliro House, are excited to be joining trailblazers Tim and Ant, and the rest of the amazing film professionals attached to THE FIELD GUIDE TO EVIL, as well as over a hundred horror fan investors around the world, in bringing this thrilling project to life.”

Calder added in that:

“Jess and I are long-time supporters of crowdfunding, and couldn’t be more excited to help Tim League and Ant Timpson launch THE FIELD GUIDE TO EVIL.”

Finally, Cofounder and CEO of Legion M Paul Scanlan stated that:

“As a company that is built upon a fan-ownership model, this project is natural fit for our slate. We believe in Tim and Ant, and the exceptional team of award-winning directorial voices brought together on this project. We are proud to join the team and continue to pioneer the frontiers of equity crowdfunding together.”

The movie itself is an interesting original take on creating a film by being an equity crowd-funded film as opposed to the usual crowdfunding that you would see happen.
