We’ve known that ‘The Flash‘ has been busy looking for a new director ever since Rick Famuyiwa (‘Dope’,’The Wood’) left the film but things aren’t looking good as Warner Brothers is now looking to do a page-one re-write of the script. That’s right folks, the studio has tapped Joby Harold (‘Awake’,’Robin Hood’) to completely re-write the script which they had to take the film in a completely new direction. At this time Warner Brothers haven’t had a comment on why they are looking to change what they had in place.

With no director and Ezra Miller who will be playing the Speedster about to be on set for ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them 2,’ it seems that they opted to take the film in a different direction while they had downtime before shooting. The most recent draft was actually penned by Famuyiwa and if he was let go on the grounds of the rumor that executives didn’t like the direction that he had changed the script, it would make sense on why they wanted it changed.

No word if any of Seth Grahame-Smith’s previous draft will come into play at all or if this will be a darker film like much of DC’s Cinematic Universe or a more lighthearted one as critics continue to call for. At this point, your guess is as good as ours but could even be related from ‘Justice League‘ now only being one film instead of two.

Are you happy to hear that ‘The Flash’ is going to be fine-tuned or is this another example of how Warner Brothers can’t seem to figure out what they want to do with the DC movies? Share your thoughts below!
