2CELLOS are a Croatian duo made up of Luka Šulić and Stjepan Hauser who have gained thousands of Youtube views for their covers of ‘Smooth Criminal’, ‘Thunderstruck’ and ‘Welcome To The Jungle’, have toured with Elton John and appeared on TV shows such as ‘Glee’ and ‘Ellen’.

Now they are back with reinforcements.  2CELLOS have teamed with the London Symphony Orchestra for their new album, ‘Scores’ which is due in March and will feature theme songs to various films and TV shows like ‘Schindler’s List’ and ‘The Godfather’.  But the first single from ‘Scores’ is none other than a ‘Game of Thrones’ medley that includes the show’s theme song.  On top of that, the video was filmed in the Croatian city of Dubrovnik, which served as the setting for King’s Landing on the hit HBO series.

Regarding their chemistry, Hauser said:

“We just wanted to show that music is universal. Why divide it into different categories? We just wanted to show that music is universal. Why divide it into “different categories? It made no sense to us. And cello has so many possibilities, so we tried to do something exciting.

Šulić added:

“We were hanging out in London, thinking about what we could do. We felt restricted in the classical music world that has certain rules. We wanted to break out and do something new, like a revolution sort of.”

2CELLOS’ new album ‘Scores’ is due out on March 17.  ‘Game of Thrones’ is due back on HBO this summer.
