Will A ‘Deadpool’ Sequel Introduce The Character’s Pansexuality?

In a future ‘Deadpool’ sequel we may see the merc with the mouth having a boyfriend or at least something more than a crush for another male character. Fans of the comic have long known that Wade Wilson has both an attraction to men and women so it wouldn’t be that much of a surprise to see his variety of love for others pop up on the big screen.

If you’re thinking the studio might put a stop to this to help international appeal, Ryan Reynolds really has the perfect response to that as the first installment was a blockbuster and that was already without China:

“That’s not really a problem for us, because we were banned in China. We were rated ‘f— you!’ in China.”

So, with box office earnings not being an issue, what are the chances we’ll see Wade in love with someone aside from Vanessa?

“What love is to Deadpool may not be what love is to Batman or someone else. I think that could be played up more. He’s an outsider in every way, shape, and form . . . The only thing that you have to consider going forward is, ‘Are we being faithful to the canon that we nurtured and created?’ One of those things is that Deadpool is in love with Vanessa. Deadpool isn’t in love with Vanessa just because she’s a woman. He’s in love with Vanessa because he loves her.”

Assuming Wilson and Vanessa split up in the next film it surely could happen down the line but without Spider-Man to obsess over I’m not sure if we’d be seeing a superhero fall into his fantasies.

Would you be fine with a Deadpool who loves men as well as women as he does in the comics? Which hero or villain from the X-Men universe would you see Wade wanting to spend some quality time with? Share your thoughts below True Believers!
