Hot on the heels of the terrifying trailer (finally!) released for ‘Alien: Covenant‘ comes three new images from the film that are helping set the tone for the movie, in which Ridley Scott is demonstrating that this entry is clearly going back to the roots of the franchise and looking to horrify and scare a lot more than he was in ‘Prometheus’ (which seemed to be more about philosophy and making people think, from a certain point of view).

And whether you loved or hated the new trailer (some felt it was very light on actual plot points from the movie and instead was just a series of quick, scary images), the new photos released from the film may not do much to sway your opinion, as much like the trailer itself they are just a serious of unrelated images, one outside the ship as two characters prepare to be attacked with guns held, ready to fight, one in the med bay as an infected passenger is clearly about to burst, and a more cryptic image of two characters at a computer screen, perhaps discussing strategy.

Check the photos out for yourself after the article, and then feel free to share your thoughts on the recent trailer, the new images, or how ‘Alien: Covenant’ is shaping up now that we are finally seeing some footage in the comments section below!

And again, here’s the brief synopsis for the film:

“Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world — whose sole inhabitant is the ‘synthetic’ David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.”
