We may often find them saving the day, but superheroes definitely fight amongst themselves a whole lot. Discussing the possibilities of Avenger vs X-Man vs Inhuman vs whatever else is out there in the universe has been a comic shop past time for years, but we’ve seen it most recently on the big screen in movies like ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’, ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’, and ‘Captain America: Civil War’. And if Vin Diesel is to be believed, it won’t be stopping any time soon.

While speaking to ScreenJunkies about ‘xXx: The Return of Xander Cage’, Diesel teased a few things about his ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’ character’s future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And not only did he casually mention a spinoff featuring Rocket Raccoon and Groot somewhere down the line, the actor shared that he feels that the Guardians’ resident houseplant/muscle will eventually face off against Mark Ruffalo’s Jade Giant one day:

“I think if it’s up to James Gunn, you are going to see a Groot/Rocket movie after ‘Infinity War’. I think that’s highly possible. We shall see. [And] I know that, somewhere in the universe, you are going to see Groot and Hulk battle. I know it. You can write it somewhere. You are going to see that poster: Hulk vs. Groot.”

If there’s one thing that Vin Diesel is good at, it’s getting his fans excited for anything he does. Sometimes they’re not even things that are actually happening. I mean, who knows if he was even really under consideration to play Black Bolt in the ‘Inhumans’ movie? But regardless of whether it was fact or fiction, people got excited about the possibility. This seems to be the case yet again with this spinoff and the monumental match-up. Sure, they’re both within the realm of possibility, but with Marvel Studios still working their way through Phase Three, it’s somewhat unlikely that they’re on the table at this point. Then again, you never know what the House of Ideas has up their sleeves. That’s how we ended up with things like ‘The Defenders’, the ‘Inhumans’ TV show, or ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: Slingshot’.

What do you think about Vin Diesel’s latest claims about the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Are you more excited about the possibility of a Rocket/Groot spinoff or a Groot/Hulk fight? Sound off in the comments.
