hugh-jackman-wolverine

For 16 years now (17 by the time ‘Logan’ hits theaters on March 3rd, 2017) Hugh Jackman has been playing the iconic character of Marvel comics’ Wolverine, arguably the most well-known member of the X-Men. Across an incredible number of movies he has taken Wolverine through an astonishing number of adventures, met a number of friends and allies, taken down a lot of enemies, suffered a lot of heart-break, popped his claws on screen who knows how many times, and we have (more or less) loved every minute of it, even during the less than great outings (I’m looking at you ‘X-Men: The Last Stand,’ ‘X-Men: Origins: Wolverine,’ and most recently ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’).

Now, with ‘Logan,’ fans and Hugh Jackman himself will be saying goodbye to the version of Wolverine that the man brought to life on the big screen, and with the release of the most recent (and excellent) trailer, it is only fitting that one fan,  a YouTuber named Afauclair has taken that first trailer and made it into a tribute to all of Wolverine’s cinematic appearances, cutting in many of his best moments from his 16 years on screen so far. The fan trailer cuts mesh very well with the current trailer, keeping the same audio mix and even some of the same video shots, so the flow feels similar, but visually it just feels more nostalgic, and calls back to events and moments from throughout the X-Men cinematic history we have seen so far. Of course, purists might claim that there are some scenes in there from timelines (movies) that were wiped from existence by the events of ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past,’ but hey, it works, and it clearly was a labor of love, so I would deem it more than acceptable.

Check out the fan made recut of the trailer for yourself below, and feel free to share your thought and opinions of it in the comments section below!
