A few months back when Mattel announced the closure of their MattyCollector department and the transfer of the licensing rights to make ‘Masters Of The Universe’ figures to Super7, collectors everywhere have been trying to figure out just what would happen next for one of their favorite brands! While we knew Super7 was releasing some classic looking figures designed to look like the original ‘Masters Of The Universe’ figures from the 1980’s, as well as M.O.T.U.S.C.L.E. figures and ReAction style retro figures, no one really knew what would be the fate of Mattel’s popular ‘Masters Of The Universe Classics’ line! That is, until now!

This week at New York Comic Con 2016, Super7’s booth was all set up and ready to show off what they were bringing to the table in the coming year, and what people found on display was simply mind blowing. Early next year, Super7 is going to be releasing ‘Ultimate Edition’ figures of many of the most popular heroes and villains from the long-running ‘Masters Of The Universe Classics’ toyline! These new ‘Ultimate Edition’ figures are releases of previously made characters that will now include every single variant headsculpt and accessory ever made for that character! Announced so far as He-Man, Skeletor, Teela, Ram-Man, and Faker! Here is the full rundown for each figure-

He-Man Includes: x3 interchangeable heads, x3 swords, x1 axe, x1 shield

Skeletor Includes: x 3 interchangeable heads, x3 swords, x1 removable cape, x1 staff

Teela Includes: x 4 interchangeable heads, x1 staff, x1 spear, x1 headdress, x1 sword, x 1 shield

Ram-Man Includes: x2 interchangeable heads, x1 axe

Faker Includes: x3 interchangeable heads, x3 swords, x1 axe, x1 shield

While many collectors have these characters already, this move is a huge breath of relief to anyone who missed out on any of these popular characters who have skyrocketed in value on the secondary market over time.  There is currently no set release date for these figures, although it is looking like they will be releasing sometime early next year! Hopefully, we will be seeing this line of ‘Ultimate’ figures continue with more of the main cast of ‘Masters Of The Universe’ figures in the future!
