Fans have been clamoring for a chance to revisit the world of ‘Harry Potter’ ever since the publication of ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows’ in 2007 and the release of the final film adaptation four years later.  This year has seen that wish granted, and then some, bringing fans the West End premiere of ‘Harry Potter and the Cursed Child’ (along with the release of the rehearsal script) over the summer and the imminent theatrical release of ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’.

Inspired by a Hogwarts textbook, ‘Fantastic Beasts’ expands the Wizarding World not only into a new time period (some seventy years before Harry Potter’s time ) but a new setting as well: the United States. From the film’s official synopsis:

The year is 1926, and Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) has just completed a global excursion to find and document an extraordinary array of magical creatures. Arriving in New York for a brief stopover, he might have come and gone without incident, were it not for a No-Maj (American for Muggle) named Jacob, a misplaced magical case, and the escape of some of Newt’s fantastic beasts, which could spell trouble for both the wizarding and No-Maj worlds.

And now, as the release of the film approaches, Warner has released a massive set of character posters through ‘Entertainment Weekly‘. The nine posters (all of which can be found below) showcase much of the film’s cast.
