Last night, it was Marvel’s moment in the San Diego Comic Con spotlight with their teasing and revealing of content from their upcoming Netflix series for Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and The Defenders – today, it looks like DC is getting to work to steal the limelight.  With several panels focused on celebrating the 75th anniversary of Wonder Woman, one of the mainstays of not only DC but female comic-book representation in general, we have been given a look at the first full-sized theatrical poster for the upcoming ‘Wonder Woman’ film.

Starring Gal Gadot as she reprises the role she first portrayed earlier this year in ‘Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice,’ the ‘Wonder Woman’ film will be one of the first superhero movies ever to feature a female as the primary solo lead character.  Today, Gadot herself had the honor of unveiling the poster at a SDCC panel.  Check it out for yourself below, accompanied by the “official” description of the film.  Let us know in the comments below: what do you think of the poster, and are you excited to see the film next year?

Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers…and her true destiny.

‘Wonder Woman’ will be released in US theaters on June 2, 2017.
