Universal Pictures is betting big on their reboot of their Universal Monster Movie line with a new cinematic universe and have just added another mystery movie to the roster which will be set to release in 2019. Specifically February 15th, 2019 which makes it the third title to be officially scheduled. The series will be kicked off by ‘The Mummy‘ which is emerging onto the big screen on June 9th, 2017 and another unannounced title which is set to drop on April 13th, 2018.

While Tom Cruise and Sofia Boutella will be starring in ‘The Mummy’ the other two dates are still a mystery as to which films will be released. However, we do know that Johnny Depp has been tapped to play H.G. Wells’ ‘The Invisible Man‘ down the line so I suspect one of these two films will be his starring role. Currently Aaron Guzikowski is penning ‘The Wolfman‘. It should be noted that at one point ‘The Wolfman’ was thought to be released in March of 2018 so could feasibly have the release date which was mentioned above.

Personally, my money is on these two being the films in these mystery slots, but if it isn’t the Wold Man or The Invisible Man there are rumors of reboots on Frankenstein, Bride of Frankenstein, and The Creature from the Black Lagoon all being in the works. With it still being uncertain if ‘Dracula Untold‘ will end up being part of this universe, we could see a reboot of the character as well. Of course, if they don’t reboot Dracula so soon then a second installment which tosses him into the time period of these films would need to be on the agenda to include him.

This is a cinematic universe which seems to be growing slowly. I hope this one film a year schedule isn’t short of what they’ll need to be able to tie the films together and allow for crossovers to actually happen.

Which film do you think we’ll be seeing in 2019? Are you excited for Universal’s reboot of their classic monster series’? Share your thoughts below!
