The ultimate 80s movie and cartoon tie-in returns as the ‘Ghostbusters‘ Ecto Cooler is making a comeback! Hi-C is bringing back the drink of choice to fans of the ‘Ghostbusters’ films and ‘The Real Ghostbusters’ cartoons! Off the shelves since 2001 this orange flavored drink that was the color of ectoplasm was a hit both taste wise and visually as well! To celebrate Paul Feig’s ‘Ghostbusters’ reboot this July it looks like Coca-Cola has decided to resurrect this Minute Maid brand which will be back on sale as of May 30th, 2016!
That’s right folks, we’re roughly one month away from being able to taste this delicious drink once again. While the juice boxes will mostly be the same, unlike the original cans the new ones will be 11.5 ounces instead of 12.
Oh so tasty. Looks like the best drink from the eighties is once again going to steal the hearts and taste buds of school children across the nation. Oh, and I’m sure a couple of us who grew up drinking this in the 80’s will be picking it up as well. Nostalgia and all really does wonders.
The official announcement from Coca-Cola says that:
Hi-C Ecto Cooler will be sold in 10-packs of 6-ounce juice boxes and in 6- and 12-packs of 11.5-ounce aluminum cans. The cans are specially printed using thermal ink that turns an eerie shade of slime green when the product inside is cold.
