The Huntsman Winters War

It seems the fairest of them all from the 2012 film ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’ is the Huntsman himself as this time around he is the star in the sequel ‘The Huntsman: Winter’s War.’ The film still has a month before its theatrical debut so it’s a bit odd that the studio is already releasing clips this early on, but if your magic mirror is a bit occupied at the moment, we do have 5 clips for you to see if the movie is in your future to be seen.

‘The Huntsman: Winter’s War’ is both a prequel and sequel in that it reveals some of the Huntsman’s history before he became a huntsman as well as the events after Snow White’s encounter with Queen Ravenna. Here’s the official synopsis:

Long before the evil Queen Ravenna was thought vanquished by Snow White’s blade, she watched silently as her sister, Freya, suffered a heartbreaking betrayal and fled their kingdom. With Freya’s ability to freeze any enemy, the young ice queen has spent decades in a remote wintry palace raising a legion of deadly huntsmen — including Eric and warrior Sara— only to find that her prized two defied her one demand: Forever harden your hearts to love.

When Freya learns of her sister’s demise, she summons her remaining soldiers to bring the Magic Mirror home to the only sorceress left who can harness its power. But once she discovers Ravenna can be resurrected from its golden depths, the wicked sisters threaten this enchanted land with twice the darkest force it’s ever seen. Now, their amassing army shall prove undefeatable…unless the banished huntsmen who broke their queen’s cardinal rule can fight their way back to one another.

While ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’ left much to be desired, Hemsworth (who also felt the film was too dark) has much higher hopes with this film:

“This time around, there’s a solid love story and a great relationship between Jessica Chastain’s character and mine, which is the heart of the story. But it’s a lot more fun, much more in the vein of say, Willow, or something.”
