The new year has certainly brought about many ups and downs for the ‘Divergent’ movies. While the promotional campaign for the next chapter of the latest young adult franchise from Lionsgate was well under way in January, February brought the less than stellar news that ‘Insurgent’ director Robert Schwentke had dropped out of the series’ finale titled ‘Ascendant’. But as the search for a new leader for the conclusion of Tris Prior’s story continues, the final trailer for ‘The Divergent Series: Allegiant’ has been released ahead of the film’s premiere next month.
The franchise’s official YouTube account shared the last trailer ahead of the movie’s release next month. Jeff Daniels’ character David, the leader of the Bereau of Genetic Welfare, is the focus of the new preview as he interacts with Shailene Woodley’s Tris. Though David proclaims that she’s the only one worth saving out of her friends, our heroine is determined to save everyone that they can. You can see how she attempts to do just that in the video below, followed by the official synopsis of the film:
After the earth-shattering revelations of ‘Insurgent’, Tris must escape with Four and go beyond the wall enclosing Chicago. For the first time ever, they will leave the only city and family they have ever known. Once outside, old discoveries are quickly rendered meaningless with the revelation of shocking new truths. Tris and Four must quickly decide who they can trust as a ruthless battle ignites beyond the walls of Chicago which threatens all of humanity. In order to survive, Tris will be forced to make impossible choices about courage, allegiance, sacrifice and love.
