Charlie-Cox-as-Daredevil-in-Daredevil-Season-1-Finale

When Netflix launched its line of shows based on Marvel Comics’ grittier heroes, it didn’t appear they had plans for them to get renewed so quickly, but ‘Daredevil’ proved to be such a huge immediate smash that the streaming service practically rushed it back into production for a second season, which debuts nearly one year after the first, on March 18th.

With the show only about a month away, Netflix has released a short new promo video entitled ‘Chinese New Year’.  You can watch it below:

In the clip, as Daredevil (Charlie Cox) stands, the message “The time has come to settle all debts” appears above his head.  Now what could that be referencing?  Does Matt Murdock owe someone… something?  Is Frank Castle someone that Murdock already knows?  Could Murdock have played some role, legally, after Castle’s family was murdered by the mob?  Did he, perhaps, fail as a lawyer to give Castle the justice he sought?

The trailer ends with the screen going black, then the sound of a gun cocking and Jon Bernthal, who plays the vigilante The Punisher, utters the word, “Bang.”  It’s just a tease, but if you’ve been following the development of this season, you know that The Punisher will factor in heavily, reportedly like a dark mirror version of Daredevil himself.  Bernthal, best known for playing the sneaky Shane on ‘The Walking Dead’, has proven impressive enough that Netflix is apparently spinning him off into his own show.

That’s just one speculation.  We probably won’t know for sure until the show becomes available to stream.

What would you like to see in ‘Daredevil’ Season 2?

‘Daredevil’ becomes available for streaming in its entirety on March 18th.  The show stars Charlie Cox, Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Hensen, with Rosario Dawson, Jon Bernthal and Élodie Yung.
