Deadpool

This weekend may be all about the Super Bowl, but for a lot of nerds, NEXT weekend is the big event: ‘Deadpool‘ steps in to slay theater audiences in his R-rated superhero romp, which is already garnering rave reviews from critics who have seen it.  (Read our review here.)

But with the largest television audience of the year tuning in to see the Super Bowl, Fox is taking advantage to spread a little last minute buzz about ‘Deadpool’ perhaps to spark interest in some folks who haven’t seen all of the online hype.

The new clip is short, because one minute of Super Bowl ad time costs something like a bajillion dollars, but features almost all new footage.

Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, ‘Deadpool’ tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.

‘Deadpool’ directed by Tim Miller, starring Ryan Reynolds, Morena Baccarin, T.J. Miller, Brianna Hildebrand, Gina Carano, and Ed Skrein hits theaters on February 12, 2016.
