Legends-of-Tomorrow-2-670x335

About two months ago, we reported that ‘Legends of Tomorrow’, The CW’s new super group series that combines disparate heroes from throughout the DC Universe in a time travel adventure, would include Connor Hawke, a character who in the comics, is the son of Oliver Queen.  On ‘Arrow’, we know Oliver does have an illegitimate son who is just a child at this point.  But throw in the time travel element from ‘Legends’ and anything is possible!

Executive producer Marc Guggenheim tweeted the cover of the script for the series’ 10th episode which went into production just a few days ago.  As you can see, Guggenheim co-wrote the episode with Phil Klemmer and David Geddes is directing.  What’s interesting is the episode’s title: “Progeny.”

“Progeny” means offspring, so presumably the episode will introduce the child or children of someone we already know.  Since Connor is confirmed to appear, it’s quite possible that this will be the episode that introduces him.  Add to that, the producers have already stated that older (or younger) versions of Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) will appear. Could we see a futuristic Oliver, who may have retired from his superhero career and passed the mantle on to his son?

There are, of course, other possibilities.  In Silver/Bronze Age continuity, older versions of Hawkman and Hawkgirl had a son, Hector that became the hero Silver Scarab.  And the immortal villain Vandal Savage also has various children including the monster of legend Grendel, as well as Scandal, a daughter that operated as one of the Secret Six.

Which child or children of modern day heroes and villains would you like to see on ‘Legends of Tomorrow’?

‘Legends of Tomorrow’ stars Brandon Routh (Ray Palmer/The Atom), Victor Garber (Prof. Martin Stein/Firestorm), Caity Lotz (Sara Lance/White Canary), Arthur Darvill (Rip Hunter), Ciara Renée (Kendra Saunders/Hawkgirl), Franz Drameh (Jax Jackson), Dominic Purcell (Heatwave), Wentworth Miller (Captain Cold), Casper Crump (Vandal Savage) and Falk Hentschel (Carter Hall/Hawkman).

The time travelling adventures begin on January 21.
