George Miller’s ‘Mad Max: Fury Road‘ was one of the best film’s of last year so quite surprisingly to many, it could be the last installment of the franchise he’ll be working on. It seems that the famed creator of the franchise wants to end on a high note and won’t be returning to the director’s chair in the next installment. That doesn’t mean he won’t be involved or that another movie won’t be created, just that Miller himself is a little too tired of the gruesome trips overseas and long hours spent on this particular post-apocalyptic world.

The shooting of the film lasted 120 days in the deserts of Namibia, Africa and Western Australia and that kind of an environment could be much for anyone, especially someone who is currently 70 years old. Passionate or not, there is a point where the body is just not willing to make that kind of a sacrifice.

Here’s what he had to say in a recent interview about a follow-up to the hit film:

“I won’t make more ‘Mad Max’ movies. I’ve shot in Australia in a field of wild flowers and flat red earth when it rained heavily forever. We had to wait 18 months and every return to the US was 27 hours. Those ‘Mad Maxes’ take forever. I won’t do those anymore.”

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen him hesitant on returning to the world of ‘Mad Max’ has he had recently said if Warner Brothers wanted to do the next sequel sooner than later he would have no problems passing the torch to a younger director.

Are you sad to hear that Miller won’t be back in the director’s chair for another ‘Mad Max’ film? Could this mean that Warner Brothers does in fact have one planned? Who would you like to see tackle a future ‘Mad Max’ film? Share your thoughts below!
