For as many of the little details from ‘Suicide Squad‘ that we’ve been teased with, Warner Brothers has finally given us an overall synopsis of the film so we have a clue as to what it’s about. From characters to action sequences, the studio has been sharing visuals with us but what we’ll actually be seeing has still been a mystery. Sure it will be about a group of supervillains working together and that both Batman and The Joker is in it, but what do we know past that? Not much.

Thankfully all of that is about to change. At least to an extent.

Here’s the synopsis!

It feels good to be bad… Assemble a team of the world’s most dangerous, incarcerated Super Villains, provide them with the most powerful arsenal at the government’s disposal, and send them off on a mission to defeat an enigmatic, insuperable entity. U.S. intelligence officer Amanda Waller has determined only a secretly convened group of disparate, despicable individuals with next to nothing to lose will do. However, once they realize they weren’t picked to succeed but chosen for their patent culpability when they inevitably fail, will the Suicide Squad resolve to die trying, or decide it’s every man for himself?

We already knew that Amanda Waller tasked a band of outlaws to serve their country or die, but this is the first time we’ve had clear proof of a hinted at “enigmatic, insuperable entity.” We still aren’t fully sure who the team will be squaring off against though there has been plenty of speculation about that from The Joker to Lex Luthor to Enchantress. My money is on the last of those options, but we’ll have to wait for either another trailer to drop or the film’s release next Fall to find out for sure.
