The Force was strong on ABC during last night’s ‘American Music Awards’ as a new clip from ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ debuted during the program.

It shouldn’t have been a surprised that a film as big as this one would have some sort of promotion included in the show. After all, ABC is owned by Disney who also happens to own Lucasfilm who happens to be producing the next installment in the franchise. As cynical as that sounds, let’s be honest. A ‘Star Wars’ promo so aptly belongs on an awards show that celebrates music as John Williams score is so iconic and classic. So if you are going to promote a film this epic, then you should do it in grand style – and grand is putting it mildly.

The clip shown was rather short (only 15 seconds long) and expanded on footage already seen in the trailer. Here we see Rey, Finn and BB-8 as they run to escape an attack by First Order TIE fighters:

But that not’s all! After the clip, Harrison Ford came out to introduce a tribute to Williams’ work by first playing a few notes of some of the composer’s other famous themes before handing the stage to the acapella group Pentatonix who performed a very unique version of the music from ‘Star Wars’ dressed in various costumes from the franchise. All this culminated with the group singing the ‘Star Wars’ theme alongside a 65 piece orchestra.

It was a nostalgic musical extravaganza that was one not to miss! But if you didn’t catch it last night, we do have it all for you below:
