Possibly the most popular Doctor/Companion pairings was definitely the Tenth Doctor’s collaboration with the outspoken Donna Noble.  In fact, Noble, played by Catherine Tate, was voted the second favorite Companion of all time.  Her character’s departure from the series was somewhat upsetting with her losing her memory of her time with The Doctor (played by David Tennant) as well as saving all of reality from Davros and the Daleks, and then going off and marrying someone else.  (Presumably they mated afterward.)

But fans can now revisit this favorite time period in the newest of Big Finish’s audio adventures, entitled ‘The Time Reaver’, which stars original actors Tennant and Tate.

Here is the episode description:

Calibris. The spaceport planet where anything goes. Where anyone who doesn’t want to be found can be lost, and where everything has its price. Where betentacled gangster Gully holds sway at the smugglers’ tavern, Vagabond’s Reach.

The alien Vacintians are trying to impose some order on the chaos. Soon the Doctor and Donna discover why. An illegal weapon is loose on the streets. A weapon that destroys lives… Slowly and agonisingly.

The Time Reaver.

A bit more information: The Doctor and Donna travel to a near-future London and “discover an entirely mechanical planet and find fairytale romance, with a twist…”

Big Finish has released a preview of ‘The Time Reaver’ which is the first of three new audio adventures which will feature The DoctorDonna pairing.  You can listen to it below:

Yeah, I’m pretty sure I’ve been to the Planet of Boys (all dancing around in their pants) and it’s called Palm Springs.  Boy am I glad I’m not in my 20s anymore.  But I digress…

Big Finish has done a bang-up job catering to fans of the Whoniverse by delivering excellent in-continuity tales featuring various Doctors and cast members as well as those of Torchwood, which help embellish and further flesh out these characters and add new layers to the mythology.

Are you glad to get a new adventure of The DoctorDonna?  What other eras should Big Finish revisit?
