Like many of us out there you may have missed Kevin Smith moderating the ‘Ash vs Evil Dead‘ panel at New York Comic Con which gave out a ton of details for the upcoming series on Starz. Joining Smith on stage were Bruce Campbell, Sam Raimi, Craig DiGregorio, Lucy Lawless, Ray Santiago, and Dana DeLorenzo. If you’ve been wanting to know more details about the series before it premieres later this month, we’ve got the details for you!
So part of this will be covering what was said and part will be covering reaction of the first episode of the series which they just happened to show those who were lucky enough to attend.
So what we’ve learned about the series so far is that there is going to be quite a bit of Deadite fighting action and our lover of women will also be trying to make some new intimate friends as well. None of this of course works out that well for poor Ash.
It also seems that Rob Tapert is to blame for the TV show idea popping up:
“I’ve been doing a lot of work on TV and their standards have lowered quite a bit. So, maybe we should do a TV show.”
Any reason for more ‘Evil Dead‘ really works for me! Thankfully the focus will be entirely on this world as Lawless won’t be mentioning ‘Xena: Warrior Princess‘ or any of her other roles. Also, she isn’t just a random character but the daughter of Professor Raymond Knowby who was brought up in the first two movies.
Not everyone is ready for the series though as Campbell himself has one major doubt:
“Every time I star in a TV show, it lasts one season. Every time I’m second fiddle, it goes on for a f—ing decade.”
Hopefully this will be when that streak finally comes to an end.
