‘Librarian’ fans rejoice, the show may not return to TNT for its sophomore season until November 1st, but the network is actively promoting the show to try to rein in new viewers, resulting in phenomenal trailers like the one below, showcasing the wonderful quirkiness of the series, as well as giving long-timers viewers a taste of what is coming in the next season.

The trailer starts with some nifty special effects of pages and words from books coming to life, then segues into a wide shot of the cast talking basically about who the Librarians are, what they do, and what the library is. What follows is a excellent montage of moments from the upcoming season, including magic, jokes, monsters, chase scenes, more jokes, and shots of the excellent cast.

For those not aware of TNT’s phenomenal series, it all started with 3 made for TV movies starring Noah Wyler (‘ER’) as Flynn Carson, a normal librarian hired into the big leagues to curate a mystical facility filled with odd artifacts.  The original movies came out in 2004, 2006, and 2008, and spawned the series with the same name, starring notable cast members like Rebecca Romjijn (‘X-Men,’ ‘X2’) and Christina Kane (‘Angel,’ ‘Leverage’) that continued the family friendly series. While some might called the show ridiculous, the show clearly does not take itself too seriously, and even takes moments to poke fun at its premise, making it a bit more meta and a lot smarter than people give it credit for.
