Labor Day comes a week late this year, but that’s no reason to delay autumn’s arrival.  And the highlight of the season is, of course Halloween!  To get you in the spooky mood, comes the new international trailer for ‘Goosebumps’ the thrilling new big screen joyride based on R.L. Stine’s super successful teen novels that chilled kids of the 90s and has already spawned a hit TV series and made-for-TV and direct-to-video movies.  But things get cranked up with this new version, starring Jack Black as Stine himself plus a slew of the ghouls that haunted the nightmares of those that thrilled to the original books and shows.

In the movie, a fictionalized version of Stine lives in solitude in a small town with his teenage daughter.  What no one knows is that their house hides a dark secret– all the monsters in the ‘Goosebumps’ books are real and imprisoned in locked books of the same name.  Things go awry when new kid in town Zach (Dylan Minnette) and his nerdy pal Champ (Ryan Lee) break in and accidentally set the monsters free to rampage through their quiet hamlet.

Watch for yourself below:

Upset about moving from a big city to a small town, teenager Zach Cooper (Dylan Minnette) finds a silver lining when he meets the beautiful girl, Hannah (Odeya Rush), living right next door. But every silver lining has a cloud, and Zach’s comes when he learns that Hannah has a mysterious dad who is revealed to be R. L. Stine (Jack Black), the author of the bestselling Goosebumps series. It turns out that there is a reason why Stine is so strange… he is a prisoner of his own imagination – the monsters that his books made famous are real, and Stine protects his readers by keeping them locked up in their books. When Zach unintentionally unleashes the monsters from their manuscripts and they begin to terrorize the town, it’s suddenly up to Stine, Zach, and Hannah to get all of them back in the books where they belong.

‘Goosebumps’ is directed by Rob Letterman and written by Darren Lemke and is set to delight and fright(en) audiences on October 16.  Hope you’re not afraid of the dark!  (Or dummies.  *shudder*)

Are you ready to see these ghouls come to life?
