Ubisoft Motion Pictures is finally moving forward with their ‘Assassin’s Creed’ adaptation and have just released the first look at Michael Fassbender (‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’,’Prometheus’) in character! Not only that but we also have a few details of where the film will be going. While the bulk of us are all down on video game adaptations, ‘Assassin’s Creed’ has a rich story that is ripe for turning into a cinematic masterpiece. I am hesitant to say that I’m excited about any game adaptation but both ‘Warcraft‘ and now ‘Assassin’s Creed’ have caught my interest.

What is interesting though is Fassbender is not going to be taking over for any of the Assassins that have been played in video games to date but will instead go by the name Callum Lynch. Callum was created just for the big screen but aside from being a new character the premise is going to remain the same. We’ll still be following an assassin who is able to reach back through time to see through the eyes of his ancestors.

Lets take a look at the first promotional shot from the film.

Honestly, it really is everything I could hope for. He has the full on hood with Assassin’s Creed emblem, wrist blades, and just the look that is needed for the character. I can’t wait to see Fassbender in action!

We may finally be on the verge of video games taking their rightful places on the big screen. Some would argue that ‘Resident Evil‘ has already paved the way but I think these two are going to be the true box office test and I can’t wait to check them out!

Are you looking forward to ‘Assassin’s Creed’ being released?
