During the D23 Expo this past weekend, Disney fans were treated to all sorts of exciting news coming from the House of Mouse very soon. Though many may be focusing on the ‘Star Wars’ expansion coming to Disneyland and Walt Disney World, the company had some pretty exciting news for gamers, particularly those of us who have been waiting for the next installment of the ‘Kingdom Hearts’ series.
After many, many, many years of waiting, there’s finally an update on ‘Kingdom Hearts 3.’ While there isn’t news about a release date yet, we have learned of another new world that Sora, Donald, and Goofy would be visiting in addition to that of ‘Tangled.’ During the Disney Interactive panel at this year’s D23, Square Enix’s Shinji Hashimoto revealed that our heroes will be venturing to San Fransokyo and the world of ‘Big Hero 6’. As seen in the concept art above, Baymax joins the party to battle the Heartless, but producer Roy Conli tells us that the game will take place after the acclaimed animated feature and offers more information without dropping any spoilers:
Moving onto the SPOILERS (for the movie and the game), Entertainment Weekly shared that the game’s villains create a Dark Baymax using the body left in the portal where Hiro and Baymax saved Professor Callaghan’s daughter. You can catch a glimpse at the evil version of the lovable healthcare robot in the concept art. Something tells me that he’s not going to be in the mood for a fist bump.
