‘The Walking Dead‘ and ‘Fear the Walking Dead‘ aren’t the only trailers to shamble out of San Diego Comic-Con 2015 as we’ll soon have the first real look at ‘Pride & Prejudice & Zombies‘ to share with you! While the trailer hasn’t appeared online at the time for the zombified horror and humor mash up we do have a few details to share with you. For those of you unfamiliar with the title it is the very long gestating adaptation of the novel of the same name which was written by Seth Grahame-Smith who had mixed in the undead with the original ‘Pride & Prejudice.’ The film went through multiple directors, writers, and actors to finally go into production and now its release is finally less than a year away.
In the trailer we are introduced to both the classic characters from ‘Pride & Prejudice’ as well as to how the undead have invaded this time period and what is being done about them. We see that the Victorian era undead have enough intelligence to disguise themselves under makeup. Not only that but Mr. Darcy is the one who is tasked to deal with this undead menace while Lady Catherine is the one who is actually doing something about them. Also slaying the undead are the Bennet sisters who are well trained in taking out this undead menace.
In the trailer we don’t get a look at Mr. Wickham who was the villain from the original novel as they wanted to keep him under wraps for the time being.
According to Jack Huston who plays Wickham, “I think Wickham is sort of shrouded in mystery. It stays very true to the novel, but at the same time there are a lot of new twists, which I don’t think we can go too much into.”
Lily James who plays Elizabeth adds that, “Being us five girls, the Bennet sisters, fighting together and destroying together was really, really fun.”
Fans of the novel will be eager to see this trailer when it drops and we’ll be sure to post what will finally be the first footage of it once it is released.
