The San Diego Comic-Con isn’t far away and rumors about what might possibly be announced are already starting. The latest rumor off the mill is brought to us by the Latino Review and it says that there will be another Batman movie slated for 2018 called ‘The Batman’ which will not only star Ben Affleck in the titular role, but also be directed by him. They’re also saying that Chris Terrio has been brought on to write the script. If true, then Terrio as the screenwriter makes a lot of sense, since he and Affleck already know how to work together. Terrio has been working on the screenplays for the various ‘Justice League’ films, which also star Affleck, and they also worked together on Affleck’s award-winning film, ‘Argo.’

With all this Justice League stuff going on, you get the feeling they’ll be rather busy, especially if they add another Batman movie to the schedule. However, Warner Bros. just might need this if they ever want to catch up to the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s popularity. Argo had tons of award nominations and quite a few wins, so Affleck and Terrio sure seem like they could be a winning combination.

The one real problem with all this speculation is that we still have yet to see any of the new DC heroes in action. It’s all well and good to speculate on the 2018 movies but we still don’t know if the 2016 movies are any good. Time will tell, and it’s certain that we’ll learn a lot more at the upcoming San Diego Comic-Con.

So do you think that Affleck has the directing chops for a Batman movie, or does he have too much on his plate to pull it off? Let us know in the comments below.

‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ is slated for release on March 25th, 2016.
